Realsize Ark
In the harbour of Dordrecht Johan Huibers is building a "Noah's Ark" at full size. This second Ark will in content be 14x as big as the first and travel around the world. In this way, Johan hopes to reach even more people to tell them about the story of God and the Flood.

The opening of this Ark will take place during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Construction

To build this Ark Johan made 24 LASH bins come from New Orleans. These bins are used for years by the Holland America Line to transport products like rice, cotton and grain. The first thing Johan did with the bins was welding 12 of them together. After that the lids were taken off.

After that nine containers were reversed by a crane and placed upside down on the first construction. The lids, which were previously removed have been attached on both sides of the bins. By creating a passage through the bins was part 1, the floating base, completed.

On both sides of the contruction are in vertical mode iron trusses attached. After that there were wooden planks horizontally naild to the construction. (Pine, Pinus sylvestris, pine).

Interior
The new ark will consist of four floors. Floors one and two, the storage of feed and the exhibition space, are currently completed. The ark will be further decorated with two stages that will be provided of bleachers. In a both hulls will be built bleachers. On the third floor is more room for exhibitions. And the fourth floor will be used as a restaurant.
